Indian police bust online gambling racket in Thane rural area


Six people were arrested after police broke up an illegal online gambling racket in the Thane rural area, according to police inspector Kishore Khairnar. The men ran the casinos out of shops where they took bets online. 

To become a member, clients had to pay between Rs500 and Rs1,500, which bought them a unique identity through which they placed their bets. Police recovered 19 computers, three mobile phones, Rs19,600 cash and other articles worth Rs 3.25 lakh from the two shops.
