Jeju Dream Tower casino revenue at $8.8 million in May

Casino revenue at the Jeju Dream Tower resort in South Korea have risen by some 14.6 percent monthly in May, totaling KRW11.41 billion ($8.8 million), according to the resort’s operator Lotte Tour Development Co.

In a filing with the Korean Stock Exchange, Lotte noted that the figure was also a 181 percent yearly increase.
Machine sales rose 72 percent yearly but fell 16 percent monthly, to KRW733 million ($560,000), while table games brought in KRW10.6 billion ($8.1 million), up 194 percent yearly and some 17 percent compared to the previous month.
During the first five months of the year, cumulative casino revenue totaled KRW37.73 billion ($28.84 million), with table games accounting for the majority, at KRW34.23 billion ($26.1 million), a 109 percent yearly rise. Machine game revenue totaled KRW3.5 biillion, a yearly rise of 143 percent.
Hotel sales in May fell by nearly 30 percent yearly, but rose 11 percent month-on-month, to KRW7.68 billion ($5.87 million). During the first five months of the year hotel sales totaled KRW32.28 billion ($24.67 million), down some 32.7 percent yearly.
