Chinese property developer Landing International said the casino in South Korea’s Hyatt Regency Jeju Hotel, which it owns in a joint venture with Genting Hong Kong, will re-open on Jan. 18th.
The Jeju Casino is now operated under the tradename of ‘‘Genting Jeju’’, and currently has 26 Baccarat tables, 1 Blackjack table, 1 Tai Sai table, 1 Roulette table and 16 slot machines.
“The board considers that the grand opening of the Jeju Casino opens a new phase of the
Group’s presence and participation in the Korean casino industry,” it said in a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Genting said in November it will pay KRW130 billion ($117.2 million) to invest in the joint venture with Landing. The Chinese company is also teaming with Genting Singapore to invest $2.2 billion in an integrated resort on the island, which has traditionally been a honeymoon destination for Koreans.
