Jockey Club loss multiplies

Macau Horse Racing Co., operator of the Macau Jockey Club, has reported a loss of 57.7 million patacas ($7.4 million) for 2012, up from a loss of 17.8 million patacas a year earlier. The club blamed the impact on nearby construction works for the city's light railway system. Macau Slot Co., which handles non-racing sports betting, reported a profit of 80.9 million patacas, up 47.1 percent.
