Jumbo half-year sales in Australia on track for record

Jumbo Interactive said its Australia sales in the half year to December 31st are on track for a record, in the range of $62 million ($64.6 million) to $65 million, a 23 percent gain from the prior half year.
The number of customer accounts on OzLotteries.com has reached 1.81 million at 30 November 2014.
Jumbo expects profit before tax to range from a loss of $0.5 million to profit of $0.1 million, compared with a profit of $2.9 million in the year-ago period.
“Record sales in Australia are a result of a growing database and a good run of
jackpots including a $70 million powerball”, said Mr Mike Veverka, CEO of
Jumbo Interactive. “This clearly demonstrates continuing growth in the internet lottery market in Australia,” he said.
Jumbo said the July launch of its product across all 16 German states had been slow when it came to customer acquisition due to a lack of differentiation between its product and others on the market.
A new version is due for release in December 2014 with the first of a series of premium product enhancements that will continue in 2015 with further releases.
“It’s clear from the first few months that a premium product offering is essential in
Germany”, Veverka said. “Our first premium product – Jumbo Syndicates – will be released this month with further premium products to be released in the second half.”
