K8 to acquire UK football club

Asia-headquartered gaming company K8 is looking to acquire a UK football club in a GBP15 million (US$19.8 million) deal, local media reports.

K8 is a gaming company with offices in over 50 countries in the world, including Vietnam, Philippines and the United Kingdom.

The company offers virtual casino, slots, table games, live dealer and sports betting, and is licensed under First Cagayan Philippines.

Should the deal be approved by the Football League, K8 will become the owners of Wigan Athletic, a League One football club.

It is expected the takeover deal will finalize by year’s end.
