Kathmandu casinos miss disclosure deadline

 

Half of Kathmandu's eight casinos have failed to submit details about their owners and employees to police two weeks after a deadline for disclosure passed. Only one casino met the original deadline. Police suspect that some casinos have issued false ownership or work papers to local gamblers so they can gain entry and evade laws banning locals from betting. Separately, police arrested nine people in two raids on suspected illegal gambling dens around the capital.
