Landing International Development said its casino in the Hyatt Regency on South Korea’s Jeju Island has ranked first in the 2016 anti-money laundering assessment of 17 of the country’s casinos.
The AML assessment was carried out by the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit. It’s the second year Landing Jeju has topped the ranking.
“I’m proud that Landing Casino has once again topped KoFIU’s Anti-Money Laundering Assessment in 2016 with an ”Outstanding” rating. Landing Casino has adopted an operation and control systems that is in accordance with international standards and practices since it commenced operations in 2014,” said Yang Zhihui, Landing executive chairman. “We will continue to work closely with the relevant administration to further improve our operations and governance standards and contribute to the sustained development of the tourism industry in Jeju.”
Landing Casino operates under one of the eight gaming licenses in Jeju under the Tourism Promotion Act. Jeju governor Hee-Ryong Won has been strengthening the operations of its Casino Regulation Division to bring regulation up to global standards.
The island, known as a South Korean honeymoon destination, has proved popular with mainland Chinese tourists.
