Lucky Dragon files motion to close permanently

Lawyers for the embattled Chinese-focused Lucky Dragon Hotel in Las Vegas have filed a motion seeking approval to close its doors for good, according to a report from Las Vegas Review Journal.

The request came on Thursday after the hotel’s main creditor, Snow Covered Capital, came out as the winning bidding at an auction for Lucky Dragon’s real estate.

The Chinese themed resort opened less than two years go but ran into financial trouble after lacklustre visitation and performance.

At the beginning of 2018, the hotel casino announced it was temporarily closing all gaming and casino restaurant operations, saying the closure was related to its plans to reposition the hotel casino.
