Luster Industries buys stake in Cambodian lottery company

Malaysia’s Luster Industries is buying a 60 percent stake in Cambodian gaming company Pan Cambodian Lottery for $4.2 million, according to media reports.

Luster, which is principally a manufacturer of high precision plastic parts and components, has been looking to diversify its business and was approached by current owner Opal last year, the reports said.

“We will expand Opal’s gaming business in Cambodia. We will carry out further valuation on this deal, which should be finalised in two to three weeks,” Luster Precision Engineering Sdn Bhd deputy managing director Liang Wooi Gee was cited as saying at a press conference on Thursday.
