Macau arrivals fall 7.6 percent in June


Macau visitor arrivals totaled 2.2 million in June, down 7.6 percent year-on-year and 11.8 percent month-on-month, according to the Statistics and Census Service.

June’s arrival statistics were the lowest since September 2012, when 2.16 million people visited Macau. 

Same-day visitors decreased by 9.7 percent year-on-year to 1.2 million, 52.1 percent of the total, while overnight visitors dropped by 5.2 percent to 1 million. 

There were visitor declines from most Asian source markets in June. 

Visitors from Mainland China decreased by 10.1 percent to 1.4 million; those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme dropped by 4.2 percent to 644,207. 

Visitors from Taiwan, South Korea and India decreased by 5.9 percent, 24.8 percent and 3.3 percent, respectively, year-on-year.
