Macau Covid cases up to 357, casinos told to step up prevention measures

The number of Covid cases in Macau has risen to 357 and the gaming regulator has urged casinos to restrict the movement of people and to increase their epidemic control measures. 

The government is kicking off a third round of mass testing after a further 96 positive cases were discovered. It said 50 of those were detected in the community with 46 in individuals who were under supervision.
This is the worst outbreak of Covid that Macau has experienced so far and nearly all leisure activities have been shut down to prevent the threat of further spread. Anyone entering into Zhuhai province in Mainland China now needs to enter mandatory quarantine for 7 days, plus 7 days of self-health monitoring. 
The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has urged all casinos to strictly comply with all the pandemic measures set out by the Health Bureau.
It has told them to step up cleaning and disinfection in the venue and to reduce the movement and gathering of people in the properties.
It said it would continue to carry out both regulator and special checks to ensure measures are being implemented.
