Macau entertainment venues return to business on March 2

While the government-mandated suspension on casinos were lifted on February 20, other entertainment venues in Macau such as cinemas, gyms, nightclubs, karaoke bars, massage parlors, beauty salons, and spas have remained under the ban.

The authorities have now judged, however, that the threat of Covid-19 infection has now receded to the point that these facilities may reopen as of midnight on March 2.

Some special measures will still be required to these establishments after resuming operations, such as the wearing of masks and the physical separation of guests and clients to the maximum extent possible. Those businesses that fail to heed these measures are theoretically subject to new suspension orders.
