The Macau government has raked in MOP 31.3 billion (US$3.9 billion) in taxes from gaming revenue from January to November, making up only 62.5 percent of its full-year forecast.
Though the number is higher than it was in November 2020, which recorded only MOP 27.5 billion, it is still significantly short of the budgeted MOP 50 billion.
Revenue from the six gaming operators is by far the largest contributor to Macau’s tax base, accounting for 67 percent of the total in the latest period.
The financial services bureau reported total revenue for the first 11 months of the year was MOP 46.9 billion, reaching 74 percent of its budget. Total expenditure was MOP64.1 billion.
