The Macau gross gambling revenue rose 16 percent in the second week of April from the prior week, but was still softer than expected, according to Bernstein Research. GGR from April 1 to 11 was about MOP2.95 billion ($368 million), down 66 percent compared with the same period in 2019. The average daily rate was MOP290 million, compared with MOP250 million the week before, helped by higher VIP hold. Bernstein said it is still expecting an improvement in April and May.
