Macau hotel occupancy rate at 84.3% from January to May 

Macau saw a year-on-year increase of 7.7 percentage points in the average hotel occupancy rate during the first five months of 2024, reaching 84.3 percent.

According to data from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), the total number of guests grew by 25 percent year-on-year to 6,135,000 during this period, while their average length of stay remained unchanged at 1.7 nights.
Macau boasts 143 hotels with 47,000 guest rooms available as of May. The average occupancy rate of guest rooms increased by 4.9 percentage points year-on-year to 83.6 percent in May.
Inbound package tour visitors to Macau surged by 187.3 percent year-on-year to 242,000 in May, with visitors from mainland China increasing by 173 percent to 219,000.
International tour visitors saw a dramatic increase of 522.2 percent to 18,000, driven by significant rises from South Korea (7,000) and India (4,000), up by 620.7 percent and 1,662.4 percent respectively.
From January to May, Macau recorded a total of 928,000 inbound package tour visitors, marking a year-on-year increase of 225.3 percent.
