Macau imposes quarantine on travelers from Japan and Korea

The government of Macau has announced its intention to extend its 14-day Covid-19 quarantine policy to a number of additional countries. The quarantine will now encompass travelers from South Korea, Italy, Iran, Germany, France, Spain, and Japan.

This quarantine, which is a de facto entry ban, will obviously reduce the ability of the Macau gaming industry to quickly recover from the February suspension of casino operations.

There have been no new cases of Covid-19 in Macau over the last 33 days. It previously had 10 cases, but all of them have recovered.
