The last month of the first quarter should be a bit calmer for Macau, as GGR slows down post-Chinese New Year. According to analysts at Macquarie, the VIP rate is seeing a recovery in the month, however, while MICE-facing operators are likely to see a boost during the month. Meanwhile, operators in the SAR are moving into the future, with new RFID gaming tables to be launched in the coming months, helping customer analytics.

March GGR to reach 75% of 2019 levels: brokerage

But in the gaming industry, it appears to be increasingly effective, with a new study finding that celebrities and social media influencers are increasing the retention rate of adverts, with a bid to reduce such future content to avoid luring younger, more influenceable, individuals towards such activity.

Dowinn Group rarely gives out credit: Lorraine Koo

Contrary to the Macau junket model, the Dowinn Group has moved away from offering credit, with the group’s Corporate Chief Operating Officer, Lorraine Koo, noting that its transactions are primarily in cash. The operation has proved highly successful in the Philippines, especially as the group targets more Korean players.
