Macau Oct. hotel occupancy rate drops 4.6 percent

The average occupancy rate for Macau’s hotels was 83.7 percent in October, 4.6 percent lower than the same month in 2014, the Macau Government Tourist Office says.

According to the Macau Hotel Association, the average occupancy rate of five-star hotels fell by 6.4 percentage points to 81.9 percent.

The average room rate of five-star hotels decreased by 12.2 percent to MOP1,847 (US$230.88) per night; four-star hotels decreased by 17.9 percent to MOP925; and three-star hotels decreased by 18.1 percent to MOP1,06.
