Macau operators turn to electric vehicles

Macau’s operators are greening their fleet of buses, with MGM China becoming the latest to add eco-friendly vehicles, Macau News Agency reports.

The company plans to add four electric buses in the summer to “reduce emissions and protect our environment.”

The agency cites a company spokesperson as saying MGM China is the first operator to acquire electric buses from BYD (Build Your Dream), a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, founded in 1995.

Melco Resorts & Entertainment has also applied to operate electric vehicles in the city for a total of eight, it said.
