Macau outdoor concert venue in Cotai to be ready soon

Macau's Cultural Affairs Bureau has announced that the construction of the new outdoor performance venue on the Cotai Strip is expected to be completed by November.

Following this, concerts and shows will be held to assess the facility's capacity, and traffic flow, and gather feedback from the public. Currently, regulations for leasing the space are in the final stages of preparation.
Deland Leong, president of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), stated that the construction next to the Grand Lisboa Palace may wrap up next month. She also mentioned that the IC is finalizing regulations governing the leasing and use of the space.
Leong noted that the government plans to host events to celebrate the space's inauguration and to test the equipment and operational details. While the specifics of the events and their number have not been disclosed, Leong emphasized that the primary goals are to test the venue's facilities, collect suggestions, and help the public become acquainted with transportation and access to the area.
Additionally, the venue's capacity will be gradually increased following the initial testing events. The facility is designed to accommodate approximately 50,000 spectators.
Located on government land, the performance area will cover 94,000 square meters at the intersection of Avenida do Aeroporto and Rua de Ténis, oriented north towards Rua de Ténis and northeast towards Avenida do Aeroporto.
In late July, the construction contract was awarded to Shing Lung Construction & Engineering Company, which submitted the lowest bid of MOP84.8 million ($10.6 million).
