Macau problem gambling surges to 110 cases in 1Q-3Q, returning to 2019 levels 

The number of individuals registered with Macau’s Social Welfare Bureau as having a gambling disorder increased in the first three quarters of the year, reaching figures comparable to pre-COVID levels.

According to a TDM Radio report, Cheang Io Tat, an official from the Social Welfare Bureau, revealed that 110 people registered with the Central Registry System of Individuals with Gambling Disorders from January to September, with 30 percent being visitors.
Between January and October this year, approximately 2,300 people sought help through the 24-hour hotline and the Internet, with 70 percent utilizing the Internet for assistance.
