Macau projects 680k daily border crossings for Labor Day holiday 

Macau authorities anticipate that all Macau checkpoints could record an average of 680,000 border crossings daily during the upcoming Labor Day holiday (May 1st to May 5th).

A spokesperson from the Public Security Police notes that the peak of border crossings may occur between May 2nd and 3rd, with over 700,000 people crossing the borders per day.
The police also expect that the largest number of people will use the Macau Border Gate, followed by the Qingmao Port and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Port.
Previously, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) predicted that Macau may receive nearly 130,000 visitor arrivals per day. This projection surpasses the numbers seen during the Cheng Ming and Easter holidays.

To ease traffic, the Macau government promises to allocate back-office manpower to support front-line work. If necessary, it will open additional inspection counters and lanes to facilitate the flow of customs clearance.
In a previous interview with AGB, Andy Wu, president of the Macau Tourism Industry Association, stated that Macau hotel occupancy rates are expected to surpass 90 percent during the Labor Day holiday, with currently 80-90 percent of hotels located in the Cotai Strip already booked.
