Macau continued to see year-on-year growth in the number of overnight visitors in September, according to data from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Macau saw a total of 2.4 million tourists in September, up 0.5 percent year-on-year, with 1.3 million overnight visitors, and 1.1 million same-day visitors.
The results show an increase in overnight visitors year-on-year (spending 2.2 days on average) and a decrease in same-day visitors year-on-year.
Of note was an increase in South Korean visitors, up 52 percent year-on-year.
Visitors from mainland China made up the bulk of tourists as expected - at 1.58 million during the month, a 0.3 percent year-on-year increase compared to the same month in 2015.
