Macau VIP revenue rises 34.8 pct in 17Q2


VIP baccarat revenue in Macau reached MOP 35.8 billion (US$4.5 billion) in the second quarter of 2017, representing a year-on-year rise of 34.8 percent, according to the latest data from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).

Mass-market revenue reached MOP 27.0 billion in the quarter, recording a 8.1 percent rise year-on-year.

Of particular note was a rise in slot machine revenue, which rose 17.2 percent year-on-year to MOP 3.1 billion, while mass-market baccarat rose 5.7 percent to MOP 19.7 billion.

In June, the DICJ reported a 21.9 percent rise in total casino GGR in the second quarter of 2017, which came in at MOP 62.9 billion.
