Macau visitor arrivals up just 0.4 percent in September

Macau visitor arrivals totaled 2.41 million in September, up just 0.4 percent year-on-year, according to official statistics.

Same-day visitors held stable as the same month of 2014, at 1.24 million, 51.4 percent of the total, while overnight visitors rose slightly by 0.8 percent to 1.17 million.

Visitors from Mainland China decreased by 1.4 percent year-on-year to 1.57 million with those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme rising slightly by 0.6 percent to 657,621.

Visitors from Mainland China came primarily from Guangdong Province, Fujian Province, and Hunan Province.

Visitors from Hong Kong totaled 543,835, Taiwan, 84,453, and Japan, 31,864, increases of 6.8 percent, 5.6 percent and 16.6 percent year-on-year respectively, while those from South Korea ( declined by 22.6 percent to 36,223.
