Macau’s Casino L’Arc VIP operation under investigation

Macau Police are investigating a senior staff member of Casino L’Arc’s VIP business on suspicion of embezzlement. The case involves funds totalling HK$ 99.7 million (US$12.8 million), local media reports.

At a local press conference, police spokesman Chan Cho Man said investigations are ongoing and declined to identify the suspect, who was previously responsible for overseeing VIP rooms managed by the casino.

In Sep. 2015, Macau junket operator Dore Entertainment announced it had been a victim of internal fraud by a former employee, sparking protests and a call for tighter regulation in the sector.
