Macau’s hotel occupancy expected to reach nearly 100 percent during the October Golden Week

Macau’s hotel and integrated resort operators are feeling optimistic about the upcoming “National Day” Golden Week holiday, with hotel occupancy rates expected to reach close to 100 percent, according to the industry association.

The Head of the Macau Hoteliers & Innkeepers Association, Lou Chi Leong, notes that September is traditionally a low season for tourism, but “this year seems to be different, with more than 100,000 visitors coming to Macau last Saturday.” At the same time, he observes that visitor arrivals didn’t decline sharply during the weekdays. In this context, he believes that Macau’s hotels may be fully occupied during October Golden Week.
