Malaysian lottery company Magnum has launched a mobile app to help punters check on their winning numbers.
The app is designed to help resolve issues of unclaimed prize money, with almost RM20 million ($6 million) annually left outstanding, according to local media reports.
"Although we do our best to publicise draw results by advertising in newspapers and posting in our outlets and online on our webpage, players still miss out on prizes that rightfully belong to them," head of national operations Datuk Chan Chee Fai was cited as saying.
Magnum 4D Classic and 4D Jackpot tickets are now being printed with a QR code which is recognised by the app, called Magnum 4D Live - Official App.
Chan said the company had transferred over RM100 million in unclaimed prize winnings to the Finance Ministry in the last five years.
