Malaysian man arrested for stealing S$900,000 worth of casino chips


A 24-year-old Malaysian man accused of stealing a casino patron’s bag containing S$900,000 (US$625,784) worth of casino chips at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands last year has been arrested, local media reports.

Jackson Yeoh, the accused, was arrested by the Royal Malaysian Police and handed over to Singapore authorities on Jan. 20.

He will be remanded for a week as investigations continue, and return to court on Jan. 28.

If convicted, Yeoh could be fined, or jailed for up to three years, or a combination of the two.
