NagaCorp Ltd. said casino revenue rose 14.4 percent to $141.8 million in the first half of 2013 from a year earlier as segment profits rose 25 percent to $70.9 million. The company credited the gains to a 20.2 percent rise in mass market table turnover to $192.2 million and an improvement in its gross VIP margin to 41 percent from 38 percent even though rolling chip volumes were flat at $2.01 billion. Slot handle rose 19.9 percent to $557.9 million.
The operator of Phnom Penh’s NagaWorld casino said it opened Aristocrat Private Club, a new area for premium mass market customers with five high-limit tables and 30 gambling machines, last month and plans to open two more private luxury gaming suites for higher-end VIP players later this year, along with a "new luxurious VIP gaming area" with restaurants and entertainment next year. Mont Blanc and Jaeger LeCoultre are to open their first Cambodian boutiques in NagaWorld in the second half of the year, the company said.
