MBS wins inaugural All Asia Dealers Championship

Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands took the top prize in the first All Asia Dealers Championship held at G2E Asia in Macau, beating 15 teams to win the All-Asia team award after 3 days of stiff competition.

Judged in baccarat, blackjack and roulette, the team scored high marks in all areas which included technical skills, guest interaction and personal presentation. The team’s prize is a trip to Australia.

The MBS team also scooped best blackjack dealer and best roulette dealer awards, while Resorts World Manila won the award for best baccarat dealer.

The best dealer team in Macau went to Sands China, which won four awards overall. Other teams that took part in the competition included Phnom Penh’s NagaWorld, City of Dreams Manila and Solaire.

The competition, which drew a crowd of spectators and raucous applause over three days, was a chance for the frontline staff of Asia’s major casinos to meet and learn from each other while doing their best under pressure.

“The competition was important to boost the morale of perhaps the most important people in the industry who interact with customers every day,” said Rosalind Wade, managing director of Asia Gaming Brief, which co-hosted the event. “It was an opportunity to showcase their skills, meet their counterparts from around Asia and get the appreciation they deserve.”
