MGM Cotai named the “world's best new skyscraper”

MGM Cotai has been named by Emporis Skyscraper Awards as the “world's best new skyscraper” for 2018. It is the first building in Macau to have been given this honor.

MGM Cotai was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, and it was selected from almost five hundred new skyscrapers around the world for its overall innovative and spectacular design.

Grant Bowie, chief executive officer and executive director of MGM China, commented, “With innovation engrained in our DNA, we are extremely proud to have MGM Cotai voted by the jury, making the year’s best new skyscraper stands in Macau. This award not only makes MGM Cotai a creative architectural masterpiece, but also exemplifies our vision on reinforcing Macau’s position as a World Center of Tourism and Leisure with our award-winning landmark.”

John Bushel, Principal of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, said, “We are delighted with this award and the recognition of this innovative design that combines two towers into one dynamically stacked composition.
