MGS organizers pledge to improve visitor traffic in 2017

The MGS Entertainment show this year welcomed 14,847 visitors, a 10 percent increase compared to last year, said organizers.

Regardless, organizers have pledged to attract even more traffic next year, especially non-gaming elements.

“As for qualified buyers - the professional buyers - we almost saw everybody; but for the multicultural side, the non-gaming sector, we did not see that many general public visitors,” said Jay Chun, chairman of Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association.

“Next year, we’ll do more marketing on that.”

The event this year featured a keynote from Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau director Paulo Martins Chan, and welcomed prominent figures from the industry including the president of PAGCOR of the Philippines.

The 2017 edition, marking the fifth anniversary of the trade show, is scheduled for the third week of November next year.

“I think for the current exhibitors we want to ask them to bring more new products [next year]. Because it’s a gaming equipment show; bringing more new products here will give them more business opportunities,” said Mr. Chun.
