Fernandes notes that this year's Labor Day holiday in mainland China spans five days, from May 1st (Wednesday) to May 5th (Sunday), making it a longer holiday period. This extended duration is expected to attract more Mainland tourists to Macau.
Earlier this week, Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng mentioned that the multi-entry visa between Macau and Hengqin for Mainland tour groups will be announced soon.
Fernandes expresses the industry's anticipation for the implementation of these measures, which is expected to revive mainland tour groups and generate more business for Macau tour guides and travel agencies.
She also notes that many Macau tour guides have obtained qualifications to practice in Hengqin during the pandemic through learning and training. She hopes that after the new multi-entry visa is implemented, Macau tour guides will be able to work between Macau and Hengqin, expanding their scope of practice.
Regarding international tourists, Fernandes mentioned that at the beginning of the year, a goal of receiving 2 million international tourists throughout the year was set. Based on current data from the first quarter, she is confident that this goal will be exceeded.
