Michael Marchetti appointed to the board of Light & Wonder

Gaming equipment and services group Light & Wonder has announced the appointment of Michael Marchetti to the Board of Directors.

In a Monday release, the company noted that Marchetti had previously served as a director of SciPlay Corporation since 2019.

Light & Wonder acquired the remainder of the public shares of SciPlay in October of last year. The company historically held 83 percent of the business, with L&W’s CEO, Matt Wilson telling AGB at the time that the acquisition would help “clean up the platform” and “streamline” the operating model.
Marchetti’s appointment to the board is set to come into effect on January 15^th and he will stand for re-election at this year’s annual meeting.
Speaking of the appointment, L&W Executive Chair Jamie Odell noted that “Michael has a wealth of mobile gaming experience and a strong financial background that will help us continue to maximize value for our shareholders”.
Aside from his role at SciPlay, Marchetti has served in leadership roles in financial groups and gaming companies such as Merrill Lynch, Electronic Arts and Buffalo Studios. He currently is the CFO of Age of Learning, Inc.
