More arrested in latest Singapore match-fixing probe

Singapore police and the anti-corruption agency announced that they had arrested 12 men and two women this Wednesday, in an alleged soccer match-fixing investigation. After Singapore was identified by Europol as being the center for a number of international criminals responsible for match-fixing in February this year,

the city state has increased its activity in the area and the number of incidents being brought to light has jumped. Five of the 14 people arrested have been detained in custody, while the remaining nine have been released on bail. Police said that the suspected ring leader and several other people are the subject of ongoing investigations in other jurisdictions.
