Naga 2 debuts with new standard in luxury, entertainment

NagaCorp hosted a media tour on 2 November in Phnom Penh to showcase the upscale new addition to NagaWorld. With the theme “Discover Gold”, the soft opening this week of Naga 2 is strategically set to coincide with one of Cambodia’s biggest holidays - the water festival - during which many Cambodians travel to Phnom Penh for celebrations, as well as with the meeting of the ASEAN Ministers.

Naga 2 more than doubles the company’s capacity and aims to provide entertainment facilities and levels of service previously unseen in Cambodia, providing both locals and tourists alike with an unprecedented hospitality experience.

Media were given a tour of the two new towers which add 903 hotel rooms, bringing the total at NagaWorld to 1,700. The main tower has 11 floors of hotel rooms, while the VIP tower has nine floors of suites, some connected directly to private gaming rooms.

Naga 2 also offer a spa with 65 individual spa rooms complete with their own sauna and steam showers, a 2,200 seat theatre, more restaurants including the impressively designed Hall of Golden Chimes, and duty free retail at NagaCity Walk which will house over 200 luxury brands under one roof.

The main casino floor at Naga 2 currently has 35 tables and 300 slot machines, as well as a 24 hour noodle bar and other refreshment areas.

Penthouse VIP suites come equipped with jacuzzis, a private karaoke room, massage room, and a butler on each floor.

More mass and VIP gaming areas will open in due course, including the Sky Casino which likely house another 10 VIP gaming tables.

Founder and CEO Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Chen Lip Keong gave an address highlighting the achievements of the company so far, and expressing his hopes and dreams for the future. Dr Chen said he wants NagaCorp to be a global hospitality provider, both in Cambodia and in other markets.

“We try not to build monuments, we build jobs”, he said, and that he believes the company can use its experience to make things work in other emerging markets.
