Negative tests needed for Macau casino entry from Friday

Macau’s casino regulator said measures requiring all staff and guests to have a negative Covid test to enter the premises will go into effect Friday, as cases in the city continue to rise.

The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) said the tests must be taken within 48 hours of entering the building. In addition, employees will need to take a rapid antigen test before arriving at work.
As of Tuesday morning, Macau had recorded 57 additional cases through positive nucleic acid tests, taking the total number of cases to 414. Among the new cases, 33 were detected in the community, 24 were detected in individuals under management and control. 
The DICJ said that the operators would be responsible for the cost of testing for their employees. 
All leisure facilities in Macau have been shut down, as well as parks and recreational areas. Only take-out dining is available. However, the casinos have remained open.
