Nepal hotel and casino employees return to work

Protesting workers at the Hyatt Regency Kathmandu have reportedly returned to work, although the hotel has not yet resumed operations, Mukti Dahal, general secretary of the All Nepal Hotel Casino and Restaurant Workers Union was cited as saying.

The hotel said it had been forced to suspend reservations at its hotel and suspend casino operations since Sunday after workers protested a loss of perks and facilities.

The workers have returned to work after the Labour and Employment Office agreed to mediate, Dahal was cited as saying by local media.

"All agitating workers have reported back for duty. However the hotel management is yet to resume operation," he said.

The hotel has approximately 400 workers.
