New Goa CM stance on gaming undecided

Newly appointed Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant says he has not yet decided his approach towards offshore casinos in the state and will need time to decide the state government’s attitude towards the gaming industry, local media reports.

Sawant made the comments during an interview with The Times of India when asked about his predecessor Manohar Parrikar’s aim to shift offshore casinos from River Mandovi to land.

Sawant said he will look at the draft casino policy and assured that he will revert with his stand in the days to come.

Sawant succeeded Parrikar as the 13th Chief Minister of Goa after Parrikar passed away last week from a prolonged illness.
