New Jersey gaming rises 10 percent in Aug., online gains


The gambling win in New Jersey’s casinos and online operations was up 10 percent overall in August, with internet activities recording their second monthly gain after three consecutive months of decline.
The total win was $289.9 million. Internet operations took in $10.5 million, up almost 5 percent, according to figures from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. A total of 431,617 internet accounts had been created as of the end of the month, up 6.5 percent.
Of the online win, $8.3 million came from casino games, while $2.2 million was attributable to online poker.
