No court decision made in favor of Scientific Games

Paradise Entertainment Limited has clarified that no decision has yet been granted by the Macau Courts in favor of Scientific Games Corp regarding the right to sell any electronic table game in the Macau market, according to a recent press release.

“In fact, such a legal dispute, involving Mr. Jay Chun, Natural Noble Limited and LT Game Limited, on the Plaintiff’s side, and SHFL Entertainment (Asia) Limited on the Defendant’s side, is pending trial and, therefore, is pending decision,” said the release.

The clarification came after news was released by a local media outlet on 19 May quoting Derik Mooberry, executive vice president and group chief executive of gaming at Scientific Games Corp., who stated that the courts have ruled in their favour regarding the right to sell any  electronic table game in the Macau market.

A separate court case, brought by SHFL Entertainment (Asia) Limited against Natural Noble Limited, Mr. Jay Chun, LT Game Limited and Paradise Entertainment Limited was dismissed earlier this month, the release added.

“In this proceeding, SHFL Entertainment (Asia) Limited alleged that the above-mentioned entities and/ or individuals were infringing the rules of fair competition. The Court decided to dismiss this proceeding after SHFL Entertainment (Asia) Limited withdrew its claim.”
