Nomination deadline draws near for expanded SBC Awards

Nominations have been flying in for this year’s SBC Awards, sponsored by OPTIMA, which takes place on Tuesday December 5 at the stunning Artillery Garden in central London.

The fourth edition of this event, designed to recognize excellence across the sports betting industry, will be centred around the presentation of 11 Operator/Affiliate awards and 17 Supplier awards. The process of determining the prize winners is well underway with a nomination phase set to close on Friday September 29.

As the deadline moves closer, all companies looking to place themselves in the running for one or more of the 28 awards have been encouraged to act now by submitting their nominations online.

The Operator/Affiliate Awards will then be put to a vote between anyone that attended this year’s Betting on Football and Betting on Sports conferences, while nominees for the Supplier Awards will be carefully assessed by a hand-picked panel of experts.

The esteemed judging panel at #sbcawards2017 already includes James Woods, head of performance Marketing for bet365, BetBright CEO Marcus Brennan and Marcos Oliveira, chief affiliate officer for Clever Advertising Group, with more additions to be confirmed in the next few weeks.

Jacob Lopez Curciel, CEO for headline sponsor OPTIMA, commented: “I am very proud to be the headline sponsor for the SBC Awards 2017. The event comes as a great time, as we are celebrating the opening of a window for new online licence applications in Spain that will enable new online operators to work with OPTIMA to gain access to the market. This is something we are very much looking forward to celebrating with the entire gaming industry.”

Meanwhile, SBC will once again be recognizing those who have made a huge contribution to the industry by inducting three new members into an SBC Sports Betting Hall of Fame that already includes Sportradar’s Carsten Koerl, FSB Technology’s Mark Blandford and Howard Chisholm, the long-term managing director at Chisholm Bookmakers.

Blandford said: "Given that so many elements of the sports betting value chain come into consideration for this awards ceremony, I was extremely humbled to be recognised for my contribution to the industry. I am looking forward to attending the Artillery Gardens on 5 December to welcome the newest additions to the SBC Sports Betting Hall of Fame and to celebrate with the prize winners for 2017."
