NSW takes The Star to court over cash prizes

The Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing has charged that The Star casino in Sydney improperly awarded cash prizes in drawings in its high rollers area. The regulator said some of the payments were made during restricted hours between 10pm and 8am and others were not made in the required forms of electronic funds transfer or check. The regulator said the casino awarded 18 prizes of A$5,000 ($4,488) each in cash.
