NZ regulator to review casino charity requirements

The New Zealand gambling commission is currently reviewing the charitable trust license conditions of its country’s six casinos, to see whether they need to be amended.  Currently, each casino is required to provide a certain level of funding to its charitable trust as part of its licensing conditions. The amount required differs from casino to casino, though in contrast, pokie operators in clubs, pubs and TABs are required to pay out at least 40 percent of their proceeds as community grants.  A number of city mayors are now drafting submissions for the Gambling Commission’s review.  (Stuff.co.nz)
