Operators to submit smoking lounge applications by end Sept

At least two casinos in Macau have applied to build smoking lounges in their casinos, said the Health Bureau on Wednesday, local media reports.

Last year, the Legislative Assembly passed a smoking bill making it mandatory for casinos to upgrade or set up smoking lounges on their casino floors before 2019.

Both Ponte 16 and MGM Cotai have applied to build 12 smoking lounges on their floors, and there are other casinos also applying for the smoking lounges.

The bureau noted that casino operators must submit full documents prior to September 28 this year.
