Package tour visitors up 3.1 percent in June

Visitors on package tours to Macau rose slightly in the month of June, up 3.1 percent year-on-year to 682,000, according to data from the Statistics and Census Bureau.

The number, however, fell 4 percent on a month-on-month basis.

The data showed a rise in package tourists from Korea and Taiwan, which surged 16.5 and 67.6 percent respectively, while mainland Chinese visitors on package tours fell slightly by 0.1 percent.

The numbers brought the visitors on package tours for the first half of the year up by 13.8 percent year-on-year to 4.3 million.
