Package tours visitors surge in October

Visitors on package tours to Macau surged 16.3 percent to 799,000 in October, according to data from the Statistics and Census Service of Macau.

The month benefited from the Chinese National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays - with mainland Chinese package tour visitors increasing 17 percent year-on-year.

South Korea and Taiwan tracked year-on-year increases as well, with visitors on package tours growing 29.2 percent and 11.8 percent respectively, said the DSEC.

The October visitor statistics brough total visitors for the first ten months of the year to 6.8 million, representing an increase of 11.5 percent year-on-year.
