PAGCOR distributes relief packs to Marikina City after flooding

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has delivered some 5,000 relief packs to flood-prone Marikina City - on the eastern border of Metro Manila, to be distributed to families in low-lying areas that are easily submerged during flooding.

The aid consists of 3,000 food packs and 2,000 non-food packs – including everything from rice and canned goods, to blankets, mosquito nets and hygiene kits.
The city was recently submerged due to flooding enhanced by Typhoon Goring and Typhoon Hanna.
“We learned a few days ago, Marikina River’s water level reached 15.7 meters, prompting the city government to prepare for evacuation of residents. Because of this, I immediately ordered our Corporate Social Responsibility Group to deliver aid for affected families,” stated PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro H. Tengco.
The aid effort continues those by PAGCOR to help typhoon-torn regions, with the regulator delivering packs to more than 31,000 families in Central and Northern Luzon after Typhoons Egay and Falcon.
